Our Business

Incorporated in 1998, Kuiseb Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd, herein referred to as KFE, is one of the oldest fishing companies in Namibia. KFE is 100% Namibian owned by former disadvantaged Namibians and Veterans of the struggle for the liberation of the country.
Our core business is catching and on board processing/freezing offshore, further processing & value addition, marketing, distribution and cold storage onshore along both value and cold chains of our arrays of products.
All our efforts tie in with the MFMR policy guidelines as advocated for by our broad NDPs and the HPP, which give impetus to the Global Development Agenda and Goals.

Our History:

1991

Naras Investment (Pty) was incorporated to participate in various sectors of the economy including fishing.

1992

Naras Investments purchased stake in I&J through its subsidiary Kuiseb Fish Products (Pty) Ltd.

1998

After separating from I&J, Kuiseb Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd was established and became a right holder in the horse mackerel sector. A subsidiary of Kuiseb Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd called Kuiseb Food Processors (Pty) Ltd was established to process and add value to various fish products.

2013

As part of Kuiseb Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd’s diversification strategy, the Naras Investment Business Cold Store (Pty), Ltd facility was constructed to cater for the demand for storage services in the Namibian fishing sector.

2015

Kuiseb Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd. and Gendev Fishing Group (Pty) Ltd. formed a joint venture, Hodago Fishing (Pty) Ltd. and invested in a mid-water trawler (Venus 1). 

2016

Naras Investment Business Cold Store (Pty) Ltd completed the extension of the cold store facility.
